Green Fest 2011

The third annual Decatur Green Fest, benefitting the Dogwood Alliance and the Decatur Preservation Alliance, will kick off the Decatur Business Association’s Concerts on the Square series with a day-long festival featuring live music, green tasting of local organic produce and food, beer, a showcase of equal exchange and other fairly-traded products, green organizations and vendors, art featuring recycled materials, and a children’s activity area.

Live music begins at 3:00pm and includes Nathan Beaver, an alt-country musician on Decatur’s Red Eye Gravy Records, performing at 6:15 and PleaseRock, a Beatles spin-off of the Yacht Rock Revue musical act, headlining  at 7:00pm on the Dave FM Stage.

The Dogwood Alliance, a 15 year-old organization, works to bring together the voices of thousands of individuals, local and regional grassroots partners, and national and international organizations to pursue win-win solutions that ensure the future of natural and native Southern forests as well as creating financial incentives for positive change by creating market demand for environmentally sound paper products.
