Flamenco Round Table
Flamenco artists from Spain and the United States gather at the Decatur Public Library on Sunday, May 13, 2012, for a round table to discuss the Spanish art form as it exists in the United States of America. The discussion will be webcast live around the world, including in Spain and other U.S. cities where flamenco has a stronghold. An unlikely art form for the Southern U.S., flamenco is highly popular in Atlanta, with several performing companies and teachers, as well as nearly two thousand self-declared, active aficionados. The round table is part of the Festival de Cante Flamenco, a theater show of flamenco singing, dance, and guitar, set for May 12 at Melia Atlanta. Free admission.
