Author Talk: Ann Uhry Abrams

Fifty years ago this year a plane crash at Orly Airport near Paris killed dozens of Atlantans, many of them the city’s cultural movers and shakers. In one fiery moment, Atlanta’s cultural community was all but wiped out. That time is vividly recalled in Ann Uhry Abrams’ book, ”Explosion at Orly: The Disaster That Transformed Atlanta.”

Ann Uhry Abrams is the author of several books and a native Atlantan who attended Druid Hills High School, received a master’s degree at Georgia State University and a PhD at Emory University and who taught history at Spelman College, Agnes Scott and Emory.
