DeKalb County will be under a flood watch from 8 p.m. Sunday through 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service has expanded the flood watch to include most of north and portions of central Georgia. The flood watch area is mainly north and west of a line from Washington to Milledgeville to Abbeville.

According to the forecast, rain showers will increase in coverage Sunday evening and overnight. Heavy rainfall is expected tonight and Monday with amounts of 2 to 3 inches possible.

Runoff will cause significant rises on area creeks and rivers, which could result in minor flooding. Isolated flash flooding is also possible.
