SUVs, Pickups Needed ASAP To Transport Hurricane Relief

By 4 p.m. Sunday, vehicles will be loaded in Decatur to carry donations to Conyers. From there, the stuff will be shipped north.

Decatur residents are collecting supplies for victims of Hurricane Sandy and need pickup trucks and SUV's right away to transport the supplies.

The deadline is tight: 4 p.m. Sunday.

The vehicles will be loaded at 215 Cambridge St. in Decatur, near Revolution Donuts and Ale Yeah!, said Laura Cooper, who is helping with the effort.

On Monday morning about 9:30 a.m., the vehicles will be driven to Conyers and loaded onto a larger truck that will be driven to New York and New Jersey.

Residents can also donate warm blankets, warm clothing, baby items, bottled water, non-perishable food and cleaning supplies at the same address on Sunday, Cooper said.
