Pets and Peeps: Bookshop Cat
Eric keeps Jim Adams company at Books Again, a rare and used book store.
The People: Jim Adams, owner of on North McDonough Street in Decatur.
Pet's name and breed: Eric. He was named after a Monty Python skit. Domestic shorthair.
How I met my pet: Eric was a stray rescued by a friend. The other cat in the house didn't get along with Eric, so my friend gave him to me. My other shop cat, Octavo, died a few months earlier. She was here for 10 years and it was time for somebody to replace her.

I love it when my pet does this: Eric rushes the door every morning when I arrive. I enjoy that moment.
I wish my pet would stop doing this: Eric begs for food constantly (sometimes cute, sometimes not so much.)
