Oakhurst Jazz Nights Start Thursday

Free concerts will be held at the Solarium.

The season of free music is upon us.

The popular Jazz Nights at Scottish Rite concert series kicks off Thursday, April 5, at at 321 W. Hill St. in Oakhurst.

A different jazz artist or band will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday at the old hospital building. Most people spread out a blanket, open a bottle of wine and soak in the sounds.

The website for the concert series lists the rules, and they're pretty simple: bring blankets not lawn chairs, throw away your trash and stay out of the flower beds. Kids are welcome.

Here's the lineup of musicians:

  • April 5: Jules and The Gents
  • April 12: Mace Hibbard Quintet
  • April 19: Joe Gransden
  • April 26: Latin jazz band Salpicon!
  • May 24: Annie Sellick

Coming in May, free concerts on the Decatur Court Square. When September rolls around, the fall version of Jazz Nights at Scottish Rite will be held.
