1. AMERICAN LEGION POST 66 FAMILY BREAKFAST

When/Where: Saturday, April 9, 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 30 Covington Road, Avondale Estates.

Why go: Excellent and inexpensive all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast of scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, sausage, grits, pancakes, biscuits and gravy.

When/Where: Saturday, April 9, 1 to 2 p.m. at bookstore at 126 N. Avondale Road, Avondale Estates

Why go: This is active participation story time, so everybody’s involved.

When/Where: Sunday, April 10, 2 to 3 p.m. at at 435 Oakview Road, Decatur

Why go: Kids will learn to make seed bombs with Helen Goldberg. Good for kids 4 and older.

Why go: James Solheim, author of “Born Yesterday: The Diary of a Young Journalist,” will talk about his books.  His daughter, Jenny, will play the Hardanger Fiddle, the traditional stringed instrument of Norway.
