Grab & Go: Looking For Things to Do With Kids?

Why Go: It's hot, kids are home, it's free, what's not to like? This is part of a series of free Wednesday movies at the library this summer.

When/Where: Thursday, June 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at St. Timothy's United Methodist Church at 5365 Memorial Drive near intersection of Rays Road in Stone Mountain.

Why Go: Property taxes are confusing. With new tax bills freshly delivered to our mailboxes, you'll hear from Tax Assessor Calvin Hicks, among the featured guests from DeKalb County, thanks to PRISM, or Pride Rings in Stone Mountain.

When/Where: Saturday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the open air Decatur Farmer's Market, 498 S. McDonough Street in Decatur.

Why Go: Beyond fennel, peaches and more, there will be face painting, cooking demos and live music.

Pricing: Free but you may want to by some local fruits, veggies, baked goods and other stuff.


When/Where: Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Firefly Studio, 1026 Atlanta Ave., in Decatur.

Why Go: Learn while doing. There's mini fitness sessions, a baby yoga & massage demo class, interactive movement/play area for toddlers, local mommy friendly retailers, healthy eating tips from a registered dietician, food, prizes and swag bags. 

Pricing: Free.


When/Where: Saturday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at , 2752 Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur.

Why Go: Kid Fun in the Afternoon from 2:00pm - 4:00pm with music and activities with DJ Amy from AM1690.  Plus, get a FREE kids meal with the purchase of any sandwich until 4:00pm. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the grand opening party features music and entertainment, as well as the food.  A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
