When/Where: Friday, June 24 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at at 1300 Commerce Drive.

Why Go: Giving blood saves lives. While O Negative blood is especially needed, any type donated is a special gift to people who really need it.

When/Where: Saturday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. atat 129 Lake St., in Avondale Estates.

Why Go: When you get a low cost vaccination for your pet, you are helping LifeLine, which rescues dogs and cats around the region. Basic dog and cat vaccination packages start at $25 for puppies and kittens and $40 for dogs and cats. Low cost vaccination clinics occur on the last Saturday of every month. Arrive early because it's first come, first served.

When/Where: Saturday, June 25 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at bookstore at 126 N. Avondale Rd., in Avondale Estates.

Why Go: Teens who love to read will enjoy meeting others with the same passion. The book selected for this series is "The Blue is for Nightmares." Teens are invited to join in and listen to the discussion even if they haven't yet read the book. The session encourages friendship and personal growth. The bookclub meets each month so check the for more details. Parking is available in the front and rear of the store. Classes and workshops are held next door at 4 Clarendon Ave. 

Pricing: Free.

When/Where: Saturday, June 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at at 659 East Lake Drive in Oakhurst.

Why Go: After you've put the kids to sleep, join in the cause that helps senior citizens in need. This is an outdoor evening of food, fun and music featuring Chef Andy Gonzales, and drinks and entertainment provided by The J'Ham String Band. Ticket price includes dinner, drinks and all the dancing you can handle!  Tickets are available for sale now at Steinbeck's and The Universal Joint, or you can purchase tickets by calling Aimee Bennett at 678-358-4260 or Kim Fledderman at 404-314-5065.
