ENJOY A CRAFT BEER DINNER

Where/When: The Square Pub, 115 Sycamore St., Decatur, Thursday, September 22, 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Why go: Atlanta Culinary Tours has partnered with The Square Pub to create a dinner menu that will have you running for tickets. The dinner includes: Gorgonzola and Caramelized Onion Crostini, Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, Arugula salad with Strawberries, Walnuts and Parmesan, Green Chile Chicken Enchilada, Fried Goat Cheese Bars with lavender Honey and Ginger Spice Cake with Cherry Sauce & Bacon Crumbles, all paired with craft beers. Jason Wiles, co-owner/chef at The Square Pub and ACT's own beer expert Larry Johnson will talk beer/food pairing.

Pricing: $45 per person





PARTICPATE IN THE 2011 WALK OF HEROES

Where/When: Richardson Health Center, 445 Winn Way, Decatur, Saturday, September 24, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Why go: By participating in this 5K Run/Walk, Tot Trot, and Community Hero Fun Day, you’ll be supporting DeKalb residents receiving mental health and substance abuse services, as well as those who suffer from developmental disabilities, from the DeKalb Community Services Board.

SUPPORT FAMILIES DEALING WITH PEDIATRIC CANCER AT SKATERAID

Where/When: East Decatur Station, 103 New St., Decatur, Sunday, September 25, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why go: This occasion is three-in-one take on a fundraising effort; combining an art auction, skateboarding event and a music festival. There will be a skateboarding contest, sponsored by Statosphere skateshop and an art auction that’s been live online since August 28th, with bidding ending on the day of the event, September 25. Lucy Dreams will headline the music festival and the other bands include Already Taken, Swamp and Social Cellar. All proceeds from SkaterAid benefit the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children.

PARTY AT THE IBERIAN PIG’S SECOND ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Where/When: , 121 Sycamore St., Decatur, Monday, September 26, 5 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.

Why go: There will be an unveiling of a new Hense mural, live music and all kinds of specials, including $6 glasses of sangria, and craft cocktails. Paella will be served for the first time at this popular spot, along with suckling pigs and a Jamon Iberico de Bellota that’s been aging since the day the restaurant opened 48 months ago. Reservations are not required, but they are suggested.
