In this workshop, you will learn how to use coupons to save money on grocery bills and receive a couponing notebook to help you get you started. Attendees will also gain information about gathering coupons, using the internet to get them and more.

Why go: Wouldn’t it be fun to put some sand between your toes without an hours-long car ride? Live music, children’s boardwalk games and more await you.

3. LEARN MORE ABOUT AMERICAN HISTORY

Where/When: , 215 Sycamore St., Decatur, Monday, June 20, 7:15 p.m.

Why go: Pegged as one of the most prominent scholars of early American history, John Ferling discusses his new book, “Independence: The Struggle to Set America Free,” as part of this Georgia Center for the Book event. The book chronicles the events that led up to the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

4. LEARN HOW TO KEEP AN URBAN FLOCK

Where/When: , 435 Oakview Rd., Decatur, Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why go: Believe it or not, there is a lot to know about raising chickens. Join Anne-Marie Anderson, a local keeper of an “urban flock,” and learn more about chickens and how to take care of them.

5. GET IN ON A HIGHLAND PARK TASTING

Why go: Join Ambassador Steven Long, who will walk the tasters of Highland Park through the history of the distillery and share tasting notes. Voted "Distillery of the Year" by the San Fransisco World Spirits Competition means this will fill up, so be sure to RSVP to get a spot.
