Why go: Hosted by Dogwood Alliance and Decatur Preservation Alliance, enjoy live music, green vendors, and a kids zone. There will be a lightbulb exchange with Atlanta Lightbulbs and artists featuring recycled materials, along with local and organic food tastings. BONUS: Terrapin Beer will be on tap and Haras de Pirque organic from Chile will be available.

Why go: Give your mom a gift that benefits Mother Earth and honeybees at the Decatur High School Community Garden. Decatur High School student beekeepers will be selling drought-tolerant native Georgia plants on the steps of the DHS gymnasium. A wide variety of blooming sun and shade plants will be available, including Butterfly Weed, Black-Eyed Susan, White Wood Daisies, and many others. Plus, a portion of the proceeds benefits the pollinator garden. Plants may be preordered from EcoAddendum, a Decatur nonprofit working to put Georgia’s plants back into Georgia’s landscape. 5. ART-B-QUE
Where/When: In the arts district of Avondale Estates behind the James Joyce Pub. Events will be between Washington and Franklin streets. And along streets including Pine, on Saturday May 7 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, May 8 from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
Why go: Eat, drink, listen to music and have just plain southern fun. There's also a "Kids Zone," with plenty to do.
Pricing: Festival is free but you may want to bring money for good eats.
