CHECK OUT THE OAKHURST ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

Where/When: Harmony Park in Oakhurst Village, (intersection of East Lake Dr. and Oakview Rd.), Decatur, Saturday, October 8, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Why go: Presented by the Decatur Arts Alliance, there will be a 5K Arts Run/Walk, a free activity area for kids, live musical performances and more. Food and drink will be available for purchase from Oakhurst vendors, as well as art from various local artists.

ARE YOU “HIGH STRUNG” ENOUGH TO HEAR THIS BAND?

HEAR THE PRESTIGE PLAY BEFORE THE SHOW AT ACADEMY THEATRE

Why go: Jeff Blanks, Matthew Trautwein, & Matthias Young return to the Academy Theater to play 90 minutes of music before Hank Kimmel's play, 'Divided Among Themselves.'

HAIL MARY! (SPORTS PUB, THAT IS…)

Where/When: Hail Mary Sports Pub, 22 North Avondale Rd., Avondale Estates, Friday, October 7, opens at 11 a.m.

Why go: The ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of The Hail Mary Sports Pub (formerly the James Joyce Irish Pub) is just in time for football season! Come see what’s new in one of the area’s more popular pubs.
