Sunday in the Garden at Woodland: featuring Skyland Trail "Fairy Homes"

Sunday in the Garden at Woodland

On Sunday, June 26th we welcome the return of guest musicians Perimeter Flutes to the Pavilion.  This local flute quartet that charmed Woodlands visitors last fall can be seen regularly performing in the Atlanta area.  The group was formed in 2005 to bring the rich cultural diversity of flute literature to audiences. Members are Kathy Farmer, Jeanne Giager, Laura Philpott, and Slava Prudchenko with accompanist Ginger Chen.

Flute music will be the perfect soundtrack for our other program this Sunday, Fairy Gardens by Skyland Trail.  Skyland Trail is a community-based nonprofit that offers hope to adults with mental illness by guiding them on the path to recovery.  Clients engaged in both art and horticulture therapy, and inspired by the magic of Woodlands Garden through regular visits, have created miniature homes and gardens alongside the paths. Fairy home building and gardening taps into the imagination and ingenuity of adults struggling with mental illness.  It allows individuals to celebrate the intricacies of nature while embracing their own talents and passions.
