Grow your Garden in Containers

Grow your Garden in Containers
Sat, April, 30, 10:30-12pm
Garden Members $25, Non Members $30

Join Master Gardener, Mary Hines, at the Oakhurst Community Garden and learn how to grow in containers a deliciously artistic display of summer vegetables, herbs and edible flowers. The lecture discusses choosing the best containers and soil mixtures; selecting ideal vegetables, herbs and flowers for container growing; making visually stunning arrangements with containers; and the basics of proper light, water, fertilizer, and pest control with an emphasis on organic methods. All students will take home a planted container. You bring the container of your choice (3 to 5 gallons; about 12" wide and deep), and we'll provide plants from our veggie sale and the soil mix. If you don't have a container, a few will be available for purchase.
