Beyond Homesteading: Intro to Family Husbandry at Darby Farms

Bring the family or come solo and join Daniel at Darby Farms to learn about how Daniel manages his successful poultry business. You will learn about how he raises a variety of chickens and turkeys for eggs and meat. Daniel will share how he found his farming dream, his future goals, and what the daily chores and farm calendar looks like. Participants will enjoy the down home feel by helping with feeding chores, see how farming can be attainable, and view symbiotic relationships between chickens, pigs, dogs, and cats. Daniel is a regular at the Decatur Farmers Markets and participants may purchase eggs. Children ages 7-10 are welcome.
