Different Ministers Are Speaking During Holy Week At Decatur Methodist

The church is holding Holy Week services for the community.

at 300 East Ponce de Leon Ave. is inviting the community to Holy Week services.

Different ministers will speak at noon through Friday and different musicians will perform. The church will hold a "Taizé Service of Remembrance" at 7 p.m. Friday and Easter services on Sunday.

Love Feast and Foot Washing Accordly to John‘s Gospel. Jesus washed the feet of his disciples during his last supper with them and we will observe this service. We conclude with an old Methodist tradition of a love feast that should make it a very special and holy evening.

Taizé Service of Remembrance
Friday, April 6, 7 p.m.

Service We gather on Good Friday in the chapel in quiet and prayer to remember Christ‘s sacrifice for us. The Taizé service provides ample space for personal reflection. Reading of Scripture combined with congregational prayer and music create an atmosphere of contemplation.

Easter Sunday Children’s Ministries There will be no preschool or elementary ministry offerings at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on April 8.

Preschool and elementary children are invited to join their church family in the fellowship hall at 9:30 a.m. for Easter Eats. Parents are responsible for their own children. A video will be set up in the children’s library for those who need a less stimulating environment.

Children are invited to join their families at 9:45 a.m. for Easter Eats and at 11:00 a.m. for worship. Activity books and coloring books will be available for preschool and elementary children to enjoy during the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Nursery for infants through two year olds will continue to be provided throughout the morning on the first floor.
