Decatur is Tops When it Comes to Dining

Eater Atlanta asks which community is the best when it comes to dining.

Paris and New York are known for being foodie havens.

But the People's Republic of Decatur is making a name for itself as a gastronomical center, too.

So says Atlanta Eater in a Q&A about metro Atlanta's best neighborhood for dining.

In the Q&A of 16 dining critics, food writers and editors, 12 of them picked Decatur. (Inman Park, Old Fourth Ward, Midtown, Buckhead and even Doraville each received a nod as the place for foodies.)

What's not like? Longtime residents remember the days when Decatur Square was nothing like it is now.

But one success after another has created a Diners' Row of sorts.

Now, there's Leon's, Café Alsace, the Iberian Pig and the Brick Store Pub, to name a few.

The city, of course, has capitalized on its reputation, launching Decatur Restaurant Tour this year to highlight its dining prowess.

So, do you agree with the assessment that Decatur is the place for foodies? What's your favorite restaurant?
