Decatur Finishes 8th in Southern Living's Tastiest Town Competition
Lafayette, La., defeats Louisville for the top spot.
With only 20,000 residents, Decatur was not expected to win the .
Big cities like Louisville and Baltimore were in the running, so it's no surprise Decatur came in eighth. Lafayette, La., won the contest for having the best food scene, followed by Lousiville.
The votes were cast by readers in an online poll that started Dec. 22 and ended Jan. 31. All the vote totals can be found on the Southern Living website.
