The Girl Scouts was founded in 1912 in Georgia by Juliette Gordon Low.

In a sign of the times, the group now has a Cookie Locator  website that allows you to find a cookie booth near you.  Profits from the sale of the cookies supports local troops and Girl Scouting, the largest voluntary organization for girls in the United States.
