Atlanta Rapper Lil Jon Competing On "Celebrity Apprentice" for Decatur Charity

United Methodist Children's Home will be showcased as Lil Jon's charity of choice on NBC series, starting Sunday

Lil Jon, Atlanta music producer, rapper and entrepreneur, will start competing on "The Celebrity Apprentice," and selected the United Methodist Children's Home as his charity.

"The Celebrity Apprentice," now in its third season, premieres on March 6, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., on NBC. During the show's 12-week run, Lil Jon will be joined by other celebrity contestants, including Nene Leakes of "Real Housewives of Atlanta;" Dionne Warwick, Meatloaf, actress Lisa Rinna, and LaToya Jackson.

Each celebrity contestant will compete for a charity—each charity will receive all of the winnings that the celebrity collects throughout the show.

“I chose the United Methodist Children’s Home as my charity because it’s a personal thing for me," said Lil Jon of his selection, in a statement. "My family took in some foster kids when I was young, so I know the importance. Every kid deserves a good home, and the best opportunities."

In a promotional video for the series, Lil Jon talks about how his brother and sister were foster children that his mother later adopted.

With the earnings, the UMCH will continue helping children and families in need by providing them a safe place to live, and offering services and resources to prevent abuse and keep families together. Since 1871, UMCH has been a safe haven and offer foster care for children and independent and transitional living arrangements for older youth.

“We’re thrilled to be chosen as Lil Jon’s charity of choice for 'The Celebrity Apprentice,'” said Terence Johnson, director of programs at United Methodist Children's Home. “We appreciate any additional help possible that allows us to continue to serve children and struggling families.”
