Lunchtime in the Studio has been called “a close-up and personal look at how contemporary dance is crafted and performed” (AJC).  Lunchtime in the Studio offers a free “backstage pass” to audience members who witness and participate in the internationally acclaimed collaborative process of CORE Performance Company.  Audience members deepen their experience of watching dance by learning about the creative process that takes place here in the Decatur studio, where for 27 years, CORE Performance Company has created the shows that are performed here and toured nationally and internationally.

At the May 8th Lunchtime in the Studio, audience members will get the opportunity to become familiar with CORE’s work in the community as we share excerpts from Heart of the Matter, an original dance-theater work that addresses healthy self-image, bullying and disordered eating, performed by CORE Performance Company; and Global Village students from our Dynamic X-Change program will share examples of their movement activities.
