Foster or Forever Home Needed for This Special Guy

If there was ever a dog that deserved a home more than any other, that dog is Jonas! Jonas is a 4 year old male pit bull who was literally THROWN over the fence at DeKalb County Animal Services. He weighed 20 lbs and was Completely emaciated. We took Jonas in and immediately started treating him for starvation. Once Jonas was at a healthy weight we noticed that Jonas was a little “off”. He had a circling behavior and his gate was very wobbly. While there are no real studies as to what starvation does to dogs, we believe, as do his trainers and vets, that Jonas suffered neurological damage as a result of literally being starved to ALMOST death! Jonas has been on medication to relieve his anxiety and his routing behavior has stopped!!

Despite what Jonas has been through he is a very low key, sweet and loving dog. He needs a family who will provide him structure and not expect much more from him than a lot of love! He enjoys walks and lying in the sun. He is crate and potty trained and would be best as an only dog or with a low energy older dog! We are hoping that someone will see what we see in Jonas and offer him a wonderful home where he will never have to worry about skipping a meal! We realize that he needs a special home and that this will be a difficult home to find, but if you could open your heart to a special needs boy, Jonas will LOVE you forever!

Since Jonas is currently staying in boarding, we are hoping to at least find a foster home where he can receive the love and attention he deserves until an adoptive home is found.
