Dekalb and Fulton Dekalb County's YWCA receives $10,000 check from Delta Community Credit Union

This morning, Delta Community Credit Union presented Dekalb County’s Teen Girls in Technology program with a $10,000 check. The check will support the organization’s Teen Girls in Technology (TGI Tech) program which targets adolescent girls from Title One schools in Fulton and DeKalb counties.  The program stimulates interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), and provides pathways to STEM college majors, careers and financial independence.  With the help of female STEM mentors, they garner technology and critical thinking skills and financial literacy to prepare for future success.

Delta Community’s donation to TGI Tech was part of the credit union’s Philanthropic Fund, which pledges to donate $70,000 to 15 organizations in metro Atlanta. The grants, ranging from $500 to $10,000, are being distributed throughout 2014.
