LifeLine Animal Project and Second Life to Host "Healthy Pets DeKalb"

The LifeLine Animal Project and Second Life Upscale Resale have teamed up to offer Healthy Pets DeKalb on Saturday, Nov. 16.

The event will offer more than 400 free vaccinations provided by a licensed veterinarian, 200 vouchers for free spay/neuters, free pet food supplied by Pet Buddies Food Pantry, pet education and more.

It is funded by Second Life Upscale Resale, the upscale thrift store in Avondale Estates that was created with the mission of giving homeless pets a second chance at life.

The event is geared towards decreasing the number of animals ending up in shelters by helping DeKalb pet owners who have limited access to veterinary services and pet education.

Some 70,000 pets die needlessly in metro Atlanta each year and the hope is that by improving companion animal health and providing free spay and neuters, the number of abandoned and stray animals that end up in shelters can be curbed.
