Avondale Estates Meeting on Downtown Master Plan Oct. 23

The city of Avondale Estates is hosting a meeting Oct. 23 to update residents on the Downtown Master Plan at City Hall from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The initiative is an update on the city's last plan in 2004 and follows a community survey that netted more than 380 responses.

The plan's main aim is to put together a vision to redevelop the core historic and business districts.

Specifically, it will look at  building and development types, infill development, sidewalks and in-fill construction, among other criteria.

"The first public meeting was very well attended and productive," city leaders wrote in statement on the work done so far.

"The City would like to see even more community members participate in the design charrette, therefore, please plan on attending this very important meeting that will shape the future of our City."
