Phone Stolen From Agnes Scott Student

Police said somebody grabbed a student's phone and camera that she left unattended. The suspect escaped but the student's camera was recovered.

Agnes Scott College police said law enforcement officers with a tracking dog searched for a suspect March 19 after a student's cell phone and camera were stolen.

Agnes Scott Police Lt. Guy Antinozzi called it a crime of opportunity. He said the student was working on a project on a patio on South Candler Street, not far from Dougherty Street, and laid her phone and camera on the driveway.

A DeKalb County police officer who happened to be in the area saw the male suspect grab the phone and camera, Antinozzi said.
