Man Snatches $100 From Pedestrian

The woman said she was walking down West Trinity Place when the man grabbed a pouch containing the money.

A woman told she was robbed of $100 cash Sept. 3 as she walked home from  the Decatur Marta station.

The woman was in the 100 block of West Trinity Place about 2:50 p.m. when a man grabbed and "forcefully removed" a pouch hanging from her backpack that held the cash.

She said the man ran west on West Trinity and tossed the pouch to the ground. The victim picked up the empty pouch and walked to the Agnes Scott College public safety building, where Decatur police interviewed her.

She described the robber as a black male about 40 years old, slender and 6 feet tall, with short black unkempt hair. He wore blue jeans, a white T-shirt and tennis shoes.
