Intown Ace Hardware One of the Chain's 'Coolest' Stores

The Ace Hardware chain has named Intown Ace Hardware in Decatur one of its "coolest stores."'
Five other Ace stores in the 4,600-store chain were named cool this year, said Dave Jones, who co-owns the Scott Boulevard business with Tony Powers.
"We're flattered," Jones said Friday. "We think it's true."
Intown Ace found out Thursday when they received a big cookie in the mail from the home office. The cookie means that Ace stories are not cookie-cutter enterprises, Jones said. The icing spells out "2012 Ace Coolest Store."
According to the Ace corporate webpage, "Ace is the largest retailer-owned cooperative and clear leader in the convenience segment of the hardware industry in terms of wholesale and retail sales and strength of the brand."

Well deserved award-- and tasty too! I hope Ace Corporate has also had the pleasure of discovering just how cool Intown's owners are as people! I enjoyed a terrific conversation with Dave Jones about All Things Suburban Plaza this past Sunday, and I really dig his outlook on life!

Good for them! I love this store and always try them first before going anywhere else. All of my interactions with employees have been wonderful and they are incredibly helpful.

I love ACE Hardware in general and will go to them rather than the big-box retailers. The selection is excellent and the employees are really friendly. We can't let the big-boxes take over.
