The City of Decatur will hold a groundbreaking for the Beacon Municipal Center at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

City officials will gather at the Atlanta Avenue construction entrance. The public is invited. Parking is limited so the city recommends you park on West Trinity Place at Adair Park if you cannot walk or bike.

The city is now demolishing part of the building that used to be the city's African-American school before integration.
