Decatur Police Station Torn Down
Demolition work is under way at the old Decatur police station and other parts of the Beacon Hill Center.
Demolition got under way this week at the old Decatur Police Station and other parts of the Beacon Hill Complex.
Once the old building is torn down, a modern police station will be constructed on that spot. Meanwhile, the police department is working out of several locations around town.
Construction of the new building is expected to finish in 2014. The new complex will also house the administrative offices of the City Schools of Decatur.
