Youth Football Returns To Decatur

Teams in the Druid Hills Youth Football program will be playing, practicing at the Decatur High field. The hope is more Decatur boys start playing the game.

Brad Waggoner, the new head football coach at Decatur High, says the key to building a strong team is and introducing younger players to the game through a youth league.

To that end, Decatur High has joined with the 4-year-old Druid Hills Youth Football (DHYF) program.

A press release from DHYF says,

Last year a third of the youth playing football at DHYF were from the City of Decatur, and four of the five head coaches were Decatur residents. New Decatur High head football coach Brad Waggoner was eager to start a youth football program, and joining forces with an established program was a good fit.

Some DHYF teams will practice at Decatur High while other teams practice at Druid Hills High. All teams will play home games at both Decatur High stadium and at Druid Hills.
