Lauren Ambrose, Steven Pasquale, Richard Dreyfuss, Ellen Burstyn, James Woods and Geena Davis are among the cast members for Coma, a remake of the medical thriller now being shot at Agnes Scott College.
On Tuesday, all the work seemed to be happening inside Letitia Pate Evans Dining Hall just off South Candler Street.
It was impossible to say if any of the stars were on campus. Security wouldn't let anybody into the building who wasn't connected to the movie.
The Hollywood Reporter is calling this A&E miniseries a "reboot of Michael Crichton’s medical thriller Coma," which appeared in theaters in 1978.
"Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) and Steven Pasquale (Rescue Me) headline the miniseries about a doctor who begins to suspect that something is amiss when healthy patients begin to fall into comas," the Hollywood Reporter said.
Students have evacuated for winter break, but the campus remains busy. Extras milled outside the building in the drizzle. Equipment trucks were parked around the edge of the campus.
More than 20 movies have been shot on the Agnes Scott campus, going all the way back to A Man Called Peter in 1955.
More recently, The Blind Side and Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son were shot there.
The Hollywood Reporter said the Coma miniseries "is a retelling of Crichton’s 1978 film based on Robin Cook’s book. The original film starred Michael Douglas, Genevieve Bujold, Rip Torn and Richard Widmark."
A&E says the miniseries will be released on Memorial Day 2012.
