Step into Africa: Seeing AIDS through the Eyes of a Child
A collaborative effort by three local churches and an international nonprofit, World Vision, is bringing the global reality of AIDS to the City of Decatur. The free Step into African exhibit will be hosted by First Baptist Church in Decatur on Sunday, Oct. 7 through Sunday, Oct. 14.
This interactive event allows participants to experience the impact of AIDS on an African community through the eyes of a child. The exhibit has impacted some 20,000 people across the United States since it launched in 2005.
Decatur Presbyterian Church and Decatur First United Methodist Church are assisting First Baptist Church. The exhibit opens at FBC at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7; Monday through Friday at 10 a.m.; Saturday, Oct. 13 at 9 a.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. Allow 20 to 30 minutes for the experience.
