Weekly shares could include the following produce: eggplant, sweet pepper, sweet potatoes, arugula, beats, bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, chard, cilantro, collard greens, fennel, kale, kohlrabi, mustard, spinach, lettuce greens, parsley and more.
MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
Members of the CSA program agree to invest in the farm in exchange they will receive a weekly share of produce. Membership for the Fall CSA will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. If our subscription becomes full, we will gladly place you on a waiting list and contact you if a new membership becomes available.
One aspect of a CSA is that members support their farmers by sharing in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, disease, early frost, crop failure and so on) and rewards (the bounty from a good season.) CSA farmers purposely plan for such contingencies, and use growing techniques that protect the harvest, minimize risk to members and optimize the rewards: growing a wide variety of crops that thrive in different types of conditions, cover cropping, crop rotation, and irrigation. Moreover, the CSA builds relationships of trust between the farmer and community group. On the whole, members will get a wide variety of vegetables. Therefore, members agree that while Global Growers Network will act in good faith to provide fresh produce for the duration of the season, there is no guarantee of quantities or contents of weekly shares.
As a CSA member, you agree to pick up your weekly share at the pick-up site during the agreed pick- up time. You agree to bring clean bags to collect your weekly share to help reduce the need for the farm to purchase produce bags. If you will be away or otherwise unable to pick up your share, you will make arrangements for someone else to collect your CSA share.
*Member shares not collected will not be refunded or made up.
