Explore the Quaker Way with Quaker Quest
The Quaker way is a spiritual path for our time that is simple, radical and contemporary. Would you like to learn about this vibrant faith?
The Atlanta Friends Meeting (Quakers) welcomes the public to a series of programs this fall. All sessions are on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.
The topics are “Quakers and Peace” on Sept. 23 and Oct. 28, “Quakers and Worship” on Sept. 30 and Nov. 4, “Quakers and Equality” on Oct. 7 and Nov. 11, and “Quakers and Jesus” on Oct. 14 and Nov. 18.
Each gathering will involve several Quakers sharing their experiences on the day’s theme. It will also include discussion and 30 minutes of Quaker worship.
“We look forward to sharing our faith tradition with the Atlanta community,” explains long-time member Bert Skellie. “We offer this series with open doors and open hearts.”
Refreshments will be served at 1 p.m. followed by the program. The location is the Friends Meetinghouse at 701 W. Howard Ave. in Decatur (0.4 mi east of the East Lake MARTA station). Children welcome – childcare will be offered.
The Atlanta Friends Meeting has worship services every Sunday at 10 a.m. In meeting for worship, we reflect in silence unless someone feels spiritually moved to offer a message aloud. The public is always welcome to join in this experience.
