Experienced banker added to growing team

Greg Wood is new Credit Portfolio Manager, Banking Officer at Private Bank of Buckhead

Private Bank of Buckhead has named Greg Wood as Credit Portfolio Manager. He is an integral part of the bank’s underwriting and risk management team, and will focus on the Decatur market, working from the Private Bank of Decatur location when it opens later this year.

“Greg is a career banker with deep experience in commercial and consumer credit underwriting and risk management, financial consulting and banking operations,” says Brent Adams, Executive Vice President and Senior Banking Officer. “He is a successful lender with a diverse background, making him the kind of well-versed professional our clients expect and deserve.”

Wood has 20+ years of experience in banking, with a diverse background that includes private banking, lending to small businesses and professionals, community banking and consumer lending. Prior to joining Private Bank of Buckhead, he was a Commercial Credit Underwriter with First Citizens Bank. He also has worked with Touchmark National Bank, SunTrust and Wachovia. Wood holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Georgia State University.

“I genuinely enjoy credit analysis and underwriting and think it is important to see those functions through the lens of soundness, profitability and growth,” he says. “And being part of this team is a great opportunity to help our clients find the best possible solution to their borrowing needs.”

The Atlanta native is in his fourth year as Chair of the Finance Committee at Grace United Methodist Church in Midtown, where he also leads a Sunday school class. Wood also enjoys reading and travel. He resides in Decatur.
