I imagine the implosion of the DeKalb County School System will send plenty of families towards schools like this. Hope it doesn't start a downward spiral in which some of the most involved, engaged, and contributing families leave the system, thus making it less attractive to those who remain who then start to leave too....

While I cannot speak for everyone at Hess, I can say that I share some of your distress over the state of education. Currently many schools are in dire circumstances and for this reason I feel compelled to offer immediate assistance to families and children negatively effected by the distressing state of education. Joining Dr. Hess in establishing Hess Academy is the most immediate and effective assistance I can offer.

Hmm....$14 K a year for a school that uses Comic Sans as their font for application?

Unfortunately, the educators did not have any input on the choice of web design service. I cannot begin to tell how difficult it was to get the website to this stage. We welcome any constructive criticism and are happy to accept anyone who wishes to volunteer to update the site.
