A long-time resident of Decatur and a dedicated employee of the City, Alma Fleetwood, had warm smiles for all she encountered.  She was proud of her family and loved to share stories and cheerful greetings.  She will be greatly missed in Decatur and beyond.

The viewing will take place on Thursday, March 24, 2011, all day and the wake will take place on Friday, March 25, 2011 from 7:00 - 8:00pm at Donald Trimble Mortuary, which is located at 1876 Second Avenue, Decatur, GA 30032.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, which is located at 2677 Pharr Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30317.  The service will take place at 1:00pm, with an early viewing at 10:00am.  Burial will take place at Lincoln Cemetery, 2275 Joseph Boone Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30314.  

Alma Hour Memorial

You are welcome to join the Decatur community on the Square on Saturday, March 2011 from 7:00 - 8:00pm to share your thoughts, stories, and remembrances of Alma at the Bandstand.  You can provide a written message for the family, light a memorial candle and/or make a donation towards the purchase of a bench to be installed on the Square in Alma's honor.

If you can't make it by the Alma Hour, donations towards the bench can be made to 'The City of Decatur" (please note in the memo line "Alma's Bench") and sent to the City Manager's Office, City of Decatur, PO Box 220, Decatur, GA 30031.
